This article contains general concepts how to use patentGate. All tasks are performed by mouse clicks and keyboard input. The default used windows commands (e.g. Open file) are not explained in this documentation. The common browser function can be used as familiar. An exception is the back button of your browser. Please use the buttons in the application to go to the previous view. The screen in patentGate is divided in two parts:

Exception:	(To navigate within list the screen division is changed completely.)
Short view with actions	Bibliographic data / PDFs

Bibliographic data and PDFs are opened out of the default view in a new window. In lists you can call different actions with the tool menu .
